Wren Rene Miller is sitting lowdown in the rear cockpit, just under the upper wing.

Other wrens in the picture are from the WRNS Processing and Assessment Course No. 2. The course started in August 1942, which helps us to date the picture.

The officer in the picture is Lt. Cdr. WG Gamidge, who is listed on the RNSOP brand plaque of former Commanding Officer’s of the schools of photography.

Gamidge was also the acting Commander at RAF Ford and, presumably, CO of the RN Photographic Flight.
