We’ve had news from Roger Forbes and Bob Stanyard that Slinger Wood has sadly died.

Stuart’s funeral was held on Wednesday 30 October at 12.15pm at Weymouth Crematorium Quibo Lane Weymouth DT4 0RR.

The picture we’ve put below was taken at our reunion in Plymouth in 2018. (Sitting next to him is Pam Forbes, to his left.)

Slinger was born in October 1947  joined the navy in 1963 at HMS Ganges. He joined the branch on completion of his airmanship training that year and finished his time as a Chief Airman (Phot).

He had a wonderful career and always said that the best years of his life was serving his country and, if he had his time again, he would join again without a moments hesitation. He leaves behind his sons and grandchildren, and many friends.
