A SERVICE to mark the passing of former Chief Petty Officer photographer Terry Gill took place at the Funeral Home of Graham J Rattray at Shore Street, Lossiemouth on Friday, May 9th 2025 beginning at 13.30.

Terry, 87, died at his home in Mosstodloch near Fochabers in Morayshire on Wednesday April 23rd – St George’s Day – having been treated for the effects of cancer.

A gifted artist, he spent a large part of his 22-year Naval career in Scotland, and at RNAS Lossiemouth in particular, before joining the graphics department of the Northern Scot newspaper in Elgin. Alfie Tubb later joined the popular paper as a photographer.

Terry was determined to celebrate a very special occasion for him and wife Sue – who nursed and cared for him with love and devotion during a long illness – and their Golden Wedding Anniversary duly arrived on Friday, April 4th, when they were joined by family and friends to mark the occasion.

Friends and former Phot Branch members are invited to join Sue and the family for the service and afterwards at The Gordon Arms, Fochabers for refreshments.

A detailed obituary of Terry’s life will appear in the next edition of the RNPA Newsletter.
